Can't argue with that. Totally get that.

Cheers
Still figuring it all out

Definitely want to see the finished result when you get there. A hot tub on a proper wooden deck can look amazing if the details are right. The lighting and landscaping around it usually make as much difference as the tub itself :)

Please share some progress photos as you go. The planning stage is half the fun with projects like this, especially seeing a blank space turn into something people can actually enjoy.

SilverRider

Count me in for the before and after pictures. The deck idea sounds much nicer than just dropping a tub onto a random patio area. Interested to see how you handle the steps and access around it.

Would love to see what you come up with. Are you building the deck yourself or getting someone in? The support underneath is the bit I would be most curious about with all that weight.

Casillas

A photo thread would be great here. These projects always look simple until you start measuring, levelling, hiding cables and making everything weatherproof. Then suddenly it becomes a full adventure ;D

TrueJason25

Looking forward to seeing it. A nice wooden surround can make a hot tub feel like part of the garden instead of just a big plastic box sitting there. :)

Clever Georgia

This is exactly the kind of project people need to share because the little choices make a huge difference. Post the layout, the materials you pick and the final result. It might inspire a few more people to have a go.

PlanckLimit36

Definitely want a reveal thread when it is finished. Bonus points if there is a night photo with the lights on because that is when these setups usually look their best ;)

StormForge62

Hope you share the costs as well as the pictures. The tub price is usually the bit everyone thinks about, but the deck, electrics and extras can sneak up on you pretty quickly.

Zach91

Definitely show us the finished setup. I want to see whether you go for a natural garden look or something more modern with lights and screens around it.

A progress update would be brilliant. Even if the first version changes along the way, those decisions are useful for anyone else thinking about building a deck and adding a hot tub later.

Show us what Bob thinks too if he gets involved. Always good seeing different ideas, although every DIY project seems to attract someone who says they would have done it differently \\:P

Now this is a summer project worth following. Get some photos up when you start cutting timber because I am curious how the shape comes together around the tub.

Please keep us updated, even with the messy middle stages. Those are usually the most interesting bits because that is where all the problem solving happens.
