That is the honest assessment and people do not want to hear it. Home advantage is still massive and gets written off too easily.

Still think I am right on this

FrostBear

Good shout. Appreciate it. :)

Seems like it from what I have seen. Context gets lost very quickly once something becomes a trending topic.

More to come on this I suspect

QuoteGood shout. Appreciate it. :)

I tried that and hit a problem at the second stage. Should be fine if you take your time

The terms and conditions usually tell a different story. I track these things on a spreadsheet so I know when something actually expires.

Might save you more than you think
Still figuring it all out

That matches what the more reliable sources are saying. I will keep following it

Yeah that is about right. Thanks for that. :o

If this is the Scrumbles pouches sampler, it is actually a decent way to test if your cat will even touch the brand before committing to bulk packs.

Some cats are ridiculously picky, so free samples can save you from buying a full box of rejected meals.

Worth noting though, always check the ingredients list even on freebies just to make sure it suits your cat's diet.

Rebecca86

I have used these samplers before and my cat acted like I had personally insulted her.

She sniffed it, walked away, came back later and still refused.

Meanwhile she will happily eat cardboard if it falls on the floor, so go figure.

Honestly these free pouch offers are great, but people underestimate how different cats react to texture changes.

Gravy pouches are usually more accepted than jelly, but even then it is hit or miss.

If your cat already has a preferred brand, do not be surprised if they ignore this completely.

SuperPosition78

Just a heads up, sometimes these "free" offers still require postage or sign-up data sharing.

Not saying it is bad, just read the small print carefully before clicking through.

I have seen people surprised later when they start getting marketing emails.
Cityzens.

MondayMoan

My cat would probably rate this zero stars and still demand more.

It is funny how they behave like food critics with absolutely no qualifications.

One day they love a flavour, next day it is suddenly beneath them.

Rogue Di

Scrumbles is actually a pretty decent brand compared to some supermarket stuff.

At least the ingredients are usually a bit more transparent.

If your cat does like it, it is not the worst thing to switch to longer term.

Dylan

I tried one of these sample packs and ended up discovering my cat only likes one specific flavour in the whole range.

Naturally it was the most expensive one.

Cats have a talent for expensive taste on a budget stomach.

These sample deals are actually quite useful if you are transitioning a kitten or a rescue cat.

It helps you figure out preferences without wasting money.

Otherwise you end up with a cupboard full of rejected tins and pouches.

StoneCold_Mike

Just be prepared for chaos if you have multiple cats.

One might love it, one might refuse it, and suddenly you are running a tiny feline negotiation table in your kitchen.

Feeding time becomes diplomacy.

Donna

I would say grab it, try it, and see what happens.

Worst case scenario you donate it or keep it as backup food.

Best case your cat actually likes it and you save a bit on regular food.

EventHorizon25

Funny thing is, cats often react more to smell than anything else.

So even high quality food can be rejected if it does not pass their very dramatic scent test.

It is less nutrition science and more personal preference theatre.
Posted from a machine that definitely needs a clean install

Forge37

If nothing else, these freebies are useful for testing sensitivity issues.

Some cats get upset stomachs with sudden diet changes, so small samples are safer.

Better than buying a full box and discovering it does not agree with them.
