Acer's 27-inch Nitro QD-OLED 240Hz gaming monitor drops to $269 at Walmart

OLED gaming monitors are getting more affordable. Tom's Hardware reports that Acer's 27 inch Nitro VG277U Xbiip QD-OLED monitor has dropped to $269 at Walmart, down from $349.99

That is a saving of $80.99, or 23 percent. The monitor has a 2560 by 1440 resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate and a 0.03 millisecond grey to grey response time

It offers 400 nits of brightness, 99 percent DCI-P3 colour coverage and AMD FreeSync Premium. Connections include two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 and a headphone output

No end date for the deal is given, and 400 nits is modest for an OLED panel. The article is an affiliate post

Under $300 for a 1440p QD-OLED with a 240Hz refresh rate is a remarkable price, and it would have cost well over double not long ago. OLED brings deep blacks and fast response times that make a big difference in games. Burn in protection features are worth checking for anyone who uses static desktop elements a lot

Is OLED worth it for a gaming monitor? And have you ever had problems with burn in?

American only deals are always frustrating for UK readers. Hopefully a similar price appears here for Black Friday
