What's a piece of software you still genuinely use daily that everyone insists is basically dead

There always seems to be at least one program or tool that the wider internet has collectively declared obsolete years ago, yet somehow a stubborn pocket of people keep using it daily because it just still does the specific job better than whatever the trendy modern replacement is supposed to be. Curious what that piece of software is for other people here.

Mine would honestly be a fairly old school note taking app that most people moved away from years back in favor of flashier cloud synced alternatives, but the plain text file simplicity is exactly what keeps me loyal to it even now. No bloat, no subscription, just works exactly the same way it always has.

Feels like these loyalty cases usually come down to one specific workflow quirk the newer alternatives never quite replicate properly. Some small feature everyone else considers minor that turns out to actually be load bearing for how a particular person actually works day to day.

Would love to hear what people are still quietly running that has been declared dead by tech journalists a dozen times over the years. And more importantly why it has managed to survive in your own personal workflow specifically.
Bonus points for anyone still running something genuinely ancient that somehow refuses to actually break despite every reasonable expectation that it should have stopped working by now

Still using an old school RSS reader daily that most people assumed died with Google Reader over a decade ago. Turns out plenty of niche alternatives kept the format alive and it remains the single best way to actually track a lot of sites without algorithm interference
