Desk setup threads usually feature immaculate workstations with matching peripherals, perfect cable management and soft ambient lighting. They look lovely, but they are not how most of us work. Real desks have coffee rings, tangled cables, sticky notes and at least one piece of tech that should have been retired years ago. So let's do an honest version

Describe your setup as it is, or share a photo if you are brave. What monitor, keyboard and mouse do you use? Is there a laptop stand made from old books? Any gadgets that have not worked for months but are still sitting there? How many cables are dangling behind the desk?. Real life is far more useful than a staged photo

I will go first. I have two mismatched monitors, one propped on a box to make it the same height as the other. My keyboard is a cheap mechanical one with a sticky space bar, and my mouse has a scroll wheel that only works upwards. There is a mug of pens, none of which work, and a pile of charging cables for devices I no longer own

No judgement here. The point is to share what works, what does not and any clever tricks for making a messy space more comfortable. Good ideas often come from scrappy setups

What does your desk look like right now? And what is the one upgrade that would make the biggest difference?
