My desk is currently in the "organized chaos" category. There are three cables I swear I know where they go, a notebook full of ideas that may or may not ever happen, and a coffee mug that has basically become part of the furniture.

The funny thing is I clean it completely and then somehow rebuild the exact same mess within a week

Two monitors are great until you realize you have somehow created a command center for looking at emails, spreadsheets, and random videos at the same time.

The productivity gains are real though. Having extra screen space makes a huge difference when working with lots of windows.

My setup is a tiny desk that was definitely not designed for modern technology. Somehow there are two speakers, a laptop stand, a keyboard, and about six adapters fighting for territory.

At this point the cables have their own ecosystem. I just try not to disturb them.

The mechanical keyboard obsession is completely understandable. Once you get used to a good one, going back to a cheap office keyboard feels like typing on a damp cracker
