Something I keep seeing asked and never getting a decent answer.

The boring answer is often the right one but people want something more dramatic.

What has your experience been?

That checks out. I have found that the biggest savings come from the boring stuff nobody wants to do.

That is the part most people skip over. The interesting part of this conversation is how differently people are reading it.

I always check startup items and background processes first.

That is my view too if I am being straight. The table does not lie over a full season, whatever people say about individual games.

The result will answer the question better than any of us can.

A clean install solves things but it is not always practical. :(

There is something right about that. There is a kind of restraint in the best of this that is harder to achieve than it looks.
