Claude Projects look useful when you keep coming back to the same work, because the project can hold its own chat history and knowledge base. That does not mean every chat inside it has infinite memory, so I would still keep long jobs split into clean stages.

I use projects for files and rules, then new chats for each task
Posted from a machine that definitely needs a clean install
