Not looking for investment chat here, just the genuinely odd or funny stories of people trying to use crypto for something completely unexpected. Could be something you witnessed yourself or just heard about secondhand. The weirder the purchase attempt the better honestly

These stories always seem to end somewhere between mildly chaotic and genuinely hilarious depending on how the transaction actually went. Doesn't need to be a huge story, just needs to be memorably odd. Let's hear the strangest ones out there

Share yours below along with how the whole situation actually played out. Bonus points if the seller had absolutely no idea what crypto even was

Heard a story about someone trying to buy a secondhand bicycle off a community board using crypto and the seller had genuinely never heard of it before.

The conversation apparently went on for nearly twenty minutes before they gave up and just did a bank transfer instead. Still one of the funniest secondhand stories I've heard

Zero idea what was happening summed up the kid's reaction when someone jokingly tried to buy a lemonade stand cup with crypto. Parent eventually stepped in and it just became cash like every other sale that day

A garage sale item once got a crypto payment offer that left the seller staring in total confusion. Ended up just handing over cash instead

Convincing a food truck to accept crypto payment years ago was purely an experiment my friend tried. The vendor politely declined and pointed at the cash only sign. Friend paid with regular money and we all laughed about it for weeks

Someone I know tried to tip a street performer with crypto once and the performer just laughed and asked for actual coins instead. Completely fair reaction honestly
