What actually got you into crypto in the first place, and do you regret it or not?

Everyone's entry point into cryptocurrency tends to be a genuinely different story, some got in early purely out of technical curiosity about the underlying blockchain concept itself, others jumped in during a specific major bull run purely chasing potential gains, and others were introduced by a friend or family member and only gradually came to understand what they had actually bought into along the way.

Looking back, people's feelings about that original decision vary just as widely as their original reasons for getting involved, some feel genuinely vindicated by how things have played out since, others feel a real sense of regret over money lost during a crash, and plenty land somewhere in between, neither fully regretful nor fully satisfied with how the whole experience actually turned out. What actually got you into crypto in the first place, and looking back now, do you genuinely regret that original decision or not?
