Bitcoin's case rests almost entirely on being a genuinely simple, secure store of value with a fixed supply and the largest network effect of any cryptocurrency by a wide margin. Ethereum's case rests on being a genuinely programmable platform, powering smart contracts, decentralized applications and an entire ecosystem of other tokens built directly on top of it. This isn't financial advice, just discussing the general comparison people make between the two. Curious whether people think Bitcoin's simplicity or Ethereum's programmability represents the more valuable long term use case

The case for Bitcoin usually centers on that simplicity being a genuine feature rather than a limitation, arguing that trying to do too much invites more potential security vulnerabilities and complexity that a pure store of value doesn't need to worry about. The case for Ethereum usually points to genuine real world utility beyond pure speculation, since decentralized finance and other applications actually run directly on its network in ways Bitcoin simply wasn't designed to support. Worth remembering nobody here is a licensed financial advisor and this remains a genuinely contested debate even among actual experts

What's actually shaped your own view on this comparison. Genuinely curious how people are weighing simplicity against broader utility here
