Binance's attempt to get a MiCA passporting license through Greece collapsed and now the crypto giant has until July 1 to either find a new EU home base or face regulatory shutdown for millions of European users. Gillian Lynch the head of Binance Europe told Reuters they're not leaving Europe and are actively exploring alternative pathways. ESMA has warned unlicensed crypto firms to wind down EU operations in an orderly fashion. The deadline is real. Binance has a week. The story matters beyond Binance itself because MiCA compliance is the framework every crypto business operating in Europe needs to navigate. If Binance can't get it done cleanly it signals how genuinely difficult the regulatory environment has become even for the largest players.
