We've all taken that one photo we almost deleted before realizing it was actually one of the best shots we'd ever gotten. Sometimes it's a total accident, wrong settings, bad lighting on paper, and somehow it just works. Those happy accidents are honestly some of the most fun parts of taking pictures

Could be a blurry shot that ended up looking dreamy instead of ruined, or a random angle you only tried because you tripped. Doesn't need to be technically perfect to earn a spot in this thread. Just needs to be the one that made you go wait, that's actually good

Drop your accidental masterpiece below along with the story of how it happened. Bonus points if you almost didn't keep it

I accidentally left my shutter speed way too slow at a fireworks show and got this amazing streaky light trail effect. Everyone assumed I planned it. I did not plan it at all

Mine was a shot of a puddle reflecting streetlights that I only took because I dropped my umbrella. Ended up being the most liked photo I've ever posted anywhere

A foggy morning shot I took just to test a new lens ended up looking like something out of a moody film.

I genuinely thought the fog had ruined it at first. Turns out fog apparently just makes everything look ten times more atmospheric

Mine happened because my phone camera glitched and doubled the exposure on a sunset shot. Looks like a proper double exposure art piece and I've never been able to replicate it since

Took a photo of my cat mid sneeze completely by accident while trying to get a nice portrait shot. The timing was so perfectly chaotic that it's now printed and framed in my hallway. My cat looks personally offended by physics in that photo. Still my most requested print when friends visit

I took a photo of my shadow stretching across a cobblestone street just messing around while waiting for a friend. It's somehow the most compliments I've ever gotten on any photo. Sometimes the best shots really do happen when you're not trying at all
