A community share thread, not necessarily your technically best photo, just the one you're genuinely proudest of, whether that's because of the difficulty getting the shot, the meaning behind it, or just a moment you're glad you managed to capture before it disappeared

Doesn't matter what equipment it was taken on, a phone shot with real meaning behind it counts just as much as something shot on expensive gear, the story is the actual point of this thread more than the technical execution

Mesh Gareth

Mine is a shot of my grandfather laughing at something off camera taken about six months before he passed, technically nothing special about the photo itself but it's the one I'd genuinely save first if my house was on fire
Posted from my main account

MayanHan

Got a shot of a lightning strike hitting a tree in the distance during a storm, waited nearly two hours with the camera set up hoping for exactly that and somehow actually got it on one of the last frames before I gave up
Still figuring it all out

BadBunny

Mine is honestly just a photo of my dog mid jump catching a ball, took probably fifty attempts to get the timing right and the one that actually worked still makes me laugh every time I see it
Here more than I should be

Shane_8

Photographed a total solar eclipse a couple years back after planning the trip specifically around it, months of preparation for a two minute window and it still feels surreal that it actually worked out

Western Depot

Nothing fancy, just a candid shot of my kids laughing together at a moment I almost missed entirely, glad my camera happened to already be out and ready
Currently losing at something

PhantomCore81

This thread is such a nice reminder that the best photos usually aren't about technical perfection at all, half of these stories are more moving than the images themselves
Press F to pay respects

Skibidi

Got a lucky shot of a hummingbird completely frozen mid hover, no special gear, just an incredibly fast shutter speed and a lot of patience sitting still near a feeder
git commit -m "fixed everything"

Rabbit11

Took a photo of the Milky Way from a remote spot after driving hours away from any light pollution, first time actually seeing it clearly with my own eyes rather than just in other people's photos, and somehow managed to capture that feeling too
Have you tried turning it off and on again?

ContextHarbour

Mine is a simple shot of an empty street in the town I grew up in, taken right before I moved away for good, doesn't look like much to anyone else but it's one of my most looked at photos

Rogue Sam

Mine is from my wedding day, not one of the official photographer's shots but one my sister took candidly of my reaction right before I saw my now husband for the first time that day
