My indoor photos always look flat or dull compared to what I see online. I do not have a big budget so I am wondering what kind of lighting setup actually makes a noticeable difference for beginners.

A simple ring light like Neewer 18 Inch LED Ring Light Kit is probably the easiest upgrade and gives consistent results.

Soft lighting makes a big difference. I switched to a softbox kit like Fovitec Softbox Lighting Kit and it instantly improved my photos.

You do not need expensive gear but you do need controlled light. Even one decent LED panel can change everything.
ISA maxed. Costs minimised.

Positioning matters as much as the light itself but having a proper light source is the first step.
