AI tools have quietly crept into everyday life. Many people now use chatbots and assistants for jobs they used to do themselves, from writing emails and summarising documents to planning meals, fixing spreadsheet formulas and translating messages. Some of these changes happened so gradually that we barely noticed. Then one day you realise you have not written a cover letter from scratch in two years

For some people, handing tasks to AI has been a huge time saver. Boring admin, repetitive coding and first drafts are common examples. For others, it has raised worries about losing skills, especially for younger people who might never learn to do these tasks without help. There is also the question of accuracy, since AI still makes confident mistakes

The task I have stopped doing is writing regular expressions for work. I used to spend ages working out the right pattern, testing it and getting it slightly wrong. Now I describe what I need, check the answer carefully and move on. I am slightly worried that I have forgotten how to write them myself, but I do not miss the headaches

This thread is about tasks people have handed over and are happy to let go. A previous thread covered tasks people gave to AI and then took back, so this is the other side of the coin. I am curious which jobs AI handles well enough that people trust it

What task have you stopped doing yourself because AI does it now? And do you miss doing it?

None, to be awkward. I tried several tools, and checking their work took longer than doing it myself

Maybe my jobs are too specific. Or maybe I am just stubborn
