Defininately the shopping basket. I think there needs to be an app which if you order online. works out all the ingredients and buys ones without what you are allergic too. eg i have to avoid Gluten. For others it might be peanut or garlic etc

The lottery idea made me laugh. If AI starts choosing the winners then I'm expecting it to tell me my odds have been "optimised" to zero.

On a more serious note, AI seems far more likely to keep taking over repetitive office work than random chance. Anything involving sorting, summarising or scheduling feels like fair game.

Wouldn't surprise me if AI ends up answering customer support chats almost everywhere. Half the time people already wonder whether they're talking to a person or a bot.

The trick will be making it easy to reach a real human when something unusual happens. That's still where people tend to beat automation.

My prediction is email. Not writing every email, but filtering, summarising and replying to the boring ones before we even see them.

That sounds great until AI politely agrees to something you never intended. Then things could get interesting.

Cooking recipes are getting the AI treatment already. Soon it'll suggest dinner based on three random ingredients left in the fridge and somehow make it sound gourmet.

Whether the end result is edible is another question entirely.

Everyone talks about jobs, but calendars are probably next. AI seems determined to schedule every meeting, reminder and birthday without anyone lifting a finger.

If it can also find a free afternoon in my diary, it'll deserve an award.

The lottery comment reminded me of those old sci-fi stories where computers controlled everything. Thankfully we're still a long way from that.

More likely we'll just keep seeing AI quietly appear inside tools people already use every day, often without them even noticing.

Photo editing feels like one area where AI is already making a huge difference. Removing backgrounds, fixing lighting and cleaning up pictures now takes seconds instead of ages.

That leaves more time for taking the photo instead of staring at editing software.

My guess is travel planning. Tell an AI where you want to go, your budget and what you enjoy, then let it build the itinerary.

The only danger is ending up with a schedule so efficient that there's no time left to actually relax.

Part of me thinks AI will eventually take over writing shopping lists because apparently mine always forgets something important.

Then again, if it keeps adding biscuits to the list, I won't be complaining.
