A personal AI research assistant could change how people learn, shop, work, compare products, read documents, and follow the news. Instead of searching through pages of results, people may ask an assistant to gather options, explain trade-offs, and prepare a summary. That could save time and widen access to knowledge, but it also raises questions about trust, sources, bias, privacy, and whether people will check the answers or just accept the neat summary.
Opinions are my own. Obviously.

This feels like where search is heading. People will not want ten blue links if an assistant gives them a usable answer.

The trust problem is huge. If the assistant chooses what you see, source quality matters more than ever.

I can see this helping with boring admin, product comparison, and learning, but I would still want citations and original links.

A personal research assistant sounds powerful, but it also means people need better habits for checking claims.
