High end OLED ultrawide monitors are tempting for developers because they make code, terminals, dashboards and documentation feel less cramped. For AI workflows, extra screen space helps with prompts, logs, notebooks and monitoring runs. The price is still hard to justify, and burn in worries are real for static interfaces. A huge beautiful display can improve comfort, but it will not fix a messy workflow by itself

Once you use a good ultrawide, going back feels painful. Space changes how you work

Good shout. Happens to me all the time.

I tend to weight the opinion of someone who has been doing it for a year over someone who just started.

OLED looks amazing, but static IDE panels make me nervous about burn in

For coding, resolution and text clarity matter more than cinematic contrast

It is worth it if you spend all day at the desk. If not, the money may be better spent elsewhere
