Fun forward looking version of the usual games on this board. Simple rules, post one genuinely specific prediction for something that will feel completely mundane and normal a decade from now, but would get you a very strange look if you said it out loud to someone right now.

Try to keep it genuinely plausible rather than pure science fiction. The fun part of this game is picking something that feels believable once you actually think it through, not just the wildest thing you can imagine.

Kicking it off with mine, most job interviews for entry level roles being conducted primarily by an AI system rather than a human. With the human interviewer only stepping in for a final short conversation near the very end of the process.

Genuinely think this specific one is closer than people currently assume. Given how much of the earlier hiring pipeline is already automated across most larger companies right now.

Mine is that owning a car outright becomes frankly unusual in most cities, subscription and shared autonomous vehicle access becoming the actual default the way streaming replaced owning physical media for most people already. Held up better than expected so far

Predicting that most people will have a standing AI health monitor built into something they already wear daily.

Catching problems weeks before symptoms would have ever shown up on their own naturally without that constant background monitoring

Mine is that handwritten signatures stop being a legitimate legal verification method almost entirely, replaced completely by some form of biometric or cryptographic verification that feels completely normal within a decade. Still an open question. Good reminder either way

The AI job interview prediction feels plausible already seeing early versions of exactly this at some companies, feels like a pretty safe bet that becomes fully normalized rather than staying niche. Would not bet against it

Mine is that grocery shopping in person becomes something people do specifically for the experience rather than genuine necessity, most routine restocking happening completely automatically through predictive ordering systems in the background.
