I think technology optimism and climate anxiety are colliding in interesting ways right now.

On one hand we have better renewable tech, on the other hand we have accelerating consumption.

Those forces are not canceling each other cleanly.

There is a tendency to treat climate progress as a single scoreboard, but it is actually multiple overlapping systems.

Energy, agriculture, transport, urban design all move at different speeds.

So expecting one unified trajectory might be part of the frustration.
