One of the most powerful things about art is that it can reveal something without explaining everything. A perfect technical copy might show what something looks like, but a more personal piece can show what something feels like.

The balance is probably the key. Emotion without craft can become unclear, and craft without emotion can become empty.

The artists who stay memorable usually find a way to make both sides work together.

The viewer definitely plays a huge role. Two people can look at the same photograph and have completely different reactions because they connect it to different memories.

That does not make either reaction fake. Art is a conversation between the creator, the work and the person experiencing it.

Maybe that uncertainty is part of what keeps art interesting.

The argument about imperfections reminds me of handmade objects. A factory-made item can be flawless, but people often value the tiny marks left by a craftsperson.

Those marks show process and history.

Art can work the same way. The traces of the creator can become part of the meaning.
